How it works

Someone has an idea. Then they let it go.

ProductUnhunt publishes ridiculous business ideas as serious analysis. The presentation is the joke. Nothing here is looking for funding.

01

An idea is considered.

Usually in a shower, a queue, or the twenty minutes after a bad meeting. It survives long enough to be described out loud.

02

It is set free.

This is the part the internet skips. An idea qualifies here only once someone has thought about building it and chosen not to.

03

It gets written up.

Usually in five sections — The Pitch, The Delusion, The Reality Check, Why It Stays Unbuilt, and an Unwanted Bonus, the adjacent idea that is somehow even less buildable. Some open with a short How It Started, because every one of these began as a reasonable moment. Some stories demand a different shape, and the good ones get it.

04

The editor publishes it.

Anyone can submit; the editor publishes. There is no queue position, no upvote gate, and no algorithm deciding what surfaces.

05

You deliver a verdict.

Six options, one vote per idea, changeable. No login, no likes, and no leaderboard. It is not election-grade and does not pretend to be.

06

Nobody builds it.

That is the whole outcome. If an idea does become real, its status changes toUnfortunately real and we all sit with that.

The deal

This is entertainment. Treat every idea as public and already set free.

By submitting, you grant ProductUnhunt a perpetual license to publish, edit, and roast it. You keep whatever rights you think you had. We promise nothing.

Do not send confidential plans, client work, or anything you would mind seeing next to Founder needs sleep.

Published ideas may be copy-edited. The joke stays yours; the commas may not.

We can reject or unpublish anything, no debate.
